Leeper didn’t give up the race, this picture wasn’t taken mid-race. You don’t stop running because your team mate falls, they aren’t being chased by lions. Also this wasn’t the Beijing Paralympics in 2008 it was the the World Championships in Christchurch in 2011 and Singleton finished with Silver.

(I think too many “this is what the Olympics is all about” posts suggesting that athletes regularly let down their whole team & all their own hard work by giving up a race for no good reason have finally broken my brain)
